As the College of Charleston grows and evolves to meet the dynamic educational needs of students today, we are working to expand student programming, recruit new faculty, and diversify our campus. Together we can create a stronger, more impactful College of Charleston.
We have added two new funds to our suite of Excellence Funds to provide donors with greater choice. Annual gifts to our suite of Excellence Funds enable you to make an immediate impact to a specific area or to the CofC Fund – The Area of Greatest Need, the university's largest source of unrestricted support. For the past three years, alumni have provided the largest amount of philanthropic support to the College of Charleston, leading both in dollars and in number of donors. With nearly 90,000 living alumni in 2018, it is fitting that we create The Alumni Fund to meet the highest needs of our alma mater. The Alumni Fund recognizes the commitment alumni have demonstrated throughout our 248-year history to increasing scholarship support for students, enhancing the prestige of the College of Charleston degree, and preserving and protecting our incomparable campus. The Parents’ Fund allows families to be actively engaged in their student’s education. It supports student programing, our low faculty/student ratios, and immediate use scholarships and awards. In addition, it keeps families abreast of happenings on campus.
