Brandon Murray
Student-Athlete Scholarship
Every base he steals, every fly ball he catches and every home run he pops over the fence – it’s all made possible with help from a College of Charleston student-athlete scholarship.
For Brandon Murray, an outfielder on the Cougars baseball team and a native of the Bahamas, the chance to play NCAA baseball is the chance of a lifetime. Each time he takes the field or steps up to the plate, he’s focused on one thing: how to establish and conduct himself as a champion. “A champion is a person who goes out and leaves all they have on the table every day they compete. They live for the moment, for the competition and do all they can to win the game,“ says Murray. “You don’t have to be the most talented to become a champion. You just have to do your best, no matter the circumstances.“My scholarship,” he adds, “has definitely meant a lot to my experience here at the College. I don’t think my parents could have afforded to send me to such a great institution without a scholarship. I’ve had nothing but life-changing experiences since I’ve been here.”
