Eric Cox '93 and Lee Cox '96
Leaving a legacy supporting the School of Business
With the arrival of their third child scheduled for this fall, alums Eric and Lee Cox knew that it was time to revisit their estate plans. Of course, protecting their family’s future was always the priority. However, they also recognized that the College of Charleston was a part of their family, too. Lee ’96 graduated with a biology degree, laying the foundation for a career in physical therapy. Eric ’93 used his business degree to pursue a career in the wealth management and life insurance industry, which has lead most recently to him launching a national firm specializing in estate planning, tax mitigation, and charitable gifting strategies. Cox is also in his ninth year as a member of the School of Business Board of Governors.
“Our hope is to inspire others who are passionate about the College to reach out and fully explore the various options available to them that will impact generations to come.”
- Eric and Lee McConnell Cox
Eric and Lee love the College. They want future students to have the same great, life-shaping experiences they did, so they decided their legacy at the College would support the School of Business. Rather than choose between their family OR the College, they decided on a meaningful gift in their estate to provide for both their family AND the College.
