Kanapaux-Magrath Estate Gift Provides Vital Financial-Need Scholarships
Donor made "WAVES" in WWII and beyond


Margaret “Peggy” Kanapaux Sullivan 1939 believed in making the most of time and education.
After graduation from the College, Sullivan served in World War II as a member of the Navy’s first class of WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).
Before her death in 1998, Sullivan endowed the Kanapauz-Magrath Scholarships. 2012 scholarship recipient Elizabeth Burdette traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to work at the LAMB (Latin American Missionary and Bible) Institute. It was there Burdette discovered a passion for women’s rights.
