Margaret “Peggy” Kanapaux Sullivan 1939 believed in making the most of time and education.
After graduation from the College, Sullivan served in World War II as a member of the Navy’s first class of WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).
Before her death in 1998, Sullivan endowed the Kanapauz-Magrath Scholarships. 2012 scholarship recipient Elizabeth Burdette traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to work at the LAMB (Latin American Missionary and Bible) Institute. It was there Burdette discovered a passion for women’s rights.
