Allen and Anne Lyndrup
Continued Commitment to the Success of Theatre Students
Former faculty member Allen Lyndrup and his beloved wife Anne have been longtime supporters of the College of Charleston’s Department of Theatre and Dance. Committed to strengthening the programs and opportunities the department provides its students, Allen spent over 20 years teaching in a number of theatre disciplines, including acting, directing, technical theatre, scene design, theatre history and script analysis. He also served as chair of the department, and his leadership is evident in his accomplishments: designing and supervising the building of the Chapel Theatre, managing a successful summer dinner theater, writing the musical score for the College’s production of Lysistrata and – in honor of Mozart’s 250th birthday – writing, producing and directing Wolfi!, a biographical play about the influential composer.
“We are committed to the bright futures of the student recipients and the ongoing success of the department.”
- Allen Lyndrup
The Lyndrups are continuing their support with the Anne Marley Lyndrup and Allen Lyndrup Theatre Scholarship, which will provide financial assistance to an exemplary junior or senior in the College’s Department of Theatre and Dance. “We are committed to the bright futures of the student recipients and the ongoing success of the department,” says Allen. The first recipient will be selected in fall 2016.
